The Last Stitch
Quilt Preparation

-
I need 4 extra inches of backing fabric along all 4 sides in order to attach the quilt backing to the frame. This means you will need to add 8 inches to the width and length of your quilt top to determine the correct amount of backing fabric. If possible, please try and give me more than 4 inches for minky fabric due to the stretch in the fabric.
-
You do not need to trim off the selvage from you backing. The selvage edge gives me a strong foundation for pinning to my frame. In addition, it is fairly square which allows the backing to remain square.
-
Please clip and remove loose threads from the back as best you can so they don’t show through to the front of the finished quilt. I know that thread magically multiplies, so I will also clip threads, within reason, to ensure a beautifully finished product.
-
I will press any folding seams out of your backing fabric before it goes on the frame. However, I do not press your quilt tops. Please make sure they are neatly pressed/starched to ensure a flat quilt top.
